210 West Cameron Avenue

NORTH CAROLINA HILLEL
2000
2015 Survey Update: Constructed in 2000 on the site of an earlier Hillel Building demolished in 1999, this two-story, hip-roofed building is six bays wide and three bays deep with a slightly projecting hip-roofed wing on the right (east) end of the façade and a wide, one-and-a-half-story, hip-roofed rear wing flanked by one-story, flat-roofed sections. The brick building has paired vinyl casement windows with fixed one-light transoms and soldier-course lintels throughout; second-story windows on main block are wrapped by the wide cornice instead of featuring a brick lintel. It has a projecting stone belt course, a soldier course between the first and second levels, and large decorative brackets at the roofline. The one-light-over-two-panel door has one-light sidelights and a one-light transom. It is sheltered by a hip-roofed porch that extends across the left four bays of the façade, sheltered a second entrance, a pair of eight-light French doors with a four-light transom. A front-gabled projecting bay marks the entrance to the porch and is supported by full-heights brick piers. A round window is located at the second-floor level above the entrance. There is an arched wall dormer on the right (east) elevation and on the rear hipped wing.
