114 Kenan Street

HOUSE
1932-1948
NR nomination: One-and-a-half-story, brick-veneer house with off-center cross-gable and exterior end-chimney. Similar to 118 and 122.

In the 1998 survey, this was deemed a Contributing Building.

2015 Survey Update: This one-and-a-half-story, side-gabled, Period Cottage is three bays wide and double-pile with a projecting, front-gabled bay on the right (north) end of the façade. The house has a brick veneer, twelve-over-twelve wood-sash windows on the façade, and a gabled dormer on the left (south) end of the façade with aluminum siding and a single six-over-six wood-sash window. The four-light-over-four-panel door, centered on the façade is sheltered by a catslide roof (extending from the left elevation of the front-gabled bay) supported by a square post. An uncovered terrace with low lattice brick wall extends across the left bay of the façade. There are paired windows in the side gables and a single four-over-four window in the front gable.

One-story frame front-gabled garage was demolished between 2008 and 2013. In the 1998 survey, this was deemed a Contributing Building.

SECONDARY HOUSE
1940-1948
One-story frame side-gabled bungalow is three bays wide and double-pile with aluminum siding, vinyl windows, and an interior brick chimney. The three-light-over-three-panel Craftsman-style door is sheltered by a small gabled roof with exposed rafter tails on diagonal brackets. In the 1998 survey, this was deemed a Contributing Building.

GARAGE
1932-1948
One-story, front-gabled, 2-car garage with German-profile weatherboards and two open garage bays on the north elevation. In the 1998 survey, this was deemed a Contributing Building.
