BENJAMIN AND MARIE LASSITER EDKINS HOUSE
1939
Two-story, brick Colonial Revival, two bays wide with one-story side wing marked by bay window. Twelve-over-twelve window sash on the first story, eight-over-eight sash on the second. Wide frieze board, exterior end brick chimney. Designed by architect William Sprinkle and built for Benjamin and Marie Lassiter Edkins. Benjamin Edkins was a traveling salesman.

The removal of a fabric awning and several pairs of non-functional shutters are the only visible changes to the house from the 1993 survey. The six-panel door has a blind fanlight and is accessed by an uncovered brick stoop. A small side-gabled wing has been constructed on the left (west) elevation with fiber-cement sheathing and an inset porch supported by square posts. The house has been enlarged to the rear with the construction of two, two-story, gabled rear wings that extend parallel from the rear (north) elevation. The wings have fiber-cement sheathing and six-over-one aluminum-clad windows. County tax records date the building to 1940 and the building appears on the 1949 Sanborn map.

In the 2013 survey, this was deemed a Contributing Building.

GARAGE
1939
Two-car, front-gabled, frame garage faces the alley (Evergreen Lane) at the rear of the property. It has plain weatherboards and twenty-four-panel lift doors. In the 2013 survey, this was deemed a Contributing Building.
